          What’s special in our destination--- Motuo Natural Reserve？

Motuo is the only county in China, which has no highway linking it to outside world. The exploitation of the waterway could be a solution to the problem. Two-thirds of the Yarlung Zangbo River’s water resources which ranks second only to the Yangtze River, are located in the canyon. A nature reserve should be set up first and then converted into a Grand Canyon State Park. The canyon has a very rich bio-diversity. It is home to over 60 per cent of the biological resources on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. The area’s unique geological and environmental conditions, as well as its abundant natural resources have long attracted the interest of Chinese and foreign scientists. The canyon, with its climatic advantages and tropical and subtropical bio-resources, will be a “museum” of species and a gene “storehouse.” However, the core of the canyon is still a depopulated zone. No one has ever gone through it on foot and no one has ridden its turbulent current.

          Itinerary:

D1: Meet at Lhasa, have dinner together. Then arrange the supporting and get prepared for tomorrow.

 D2: Transfer to Paixiang by chartered bus.

 D3: You will trek about 20 km with the altitude of 4221 m. As you ascend and descend the Peak Duoxiongla, you will pass through several vegetation zones from sub-tropical rain forest to chill Mountain eco-system. You can catch the view of fir on the summit and  Musaceae in the jungle.

Today’s accommodation: Shelter on the road

 D4: You are expected to keep backpacking for 30 km, a challenging day. Rough terrain with leech along the road will cause exhilaration to you. Keep on!

 D5: You’ve been in the heart of Motuo Natural Reserve, so prepare for the coming strenuous and a bit dangerous road. Enjoy the panoramic scene of Ani Bridge. At night, after refreshing dinner you can fall in sleep with the roaring of the river.

 D6: Our trail will take us along steep inclines almost all day, leading to the highest point of Beibeng, where locates the County Government.

 D7: Compared with previous exhilarating journey, today’s trekking is relatively easy with flat terrain. Motou stands on one of the flat area on a mountain along Yangluzangbu River, surrounded by fields, mist and trees. You deserve that breath-taking beautiful landscape.

 D8: After several days expedition, this coming morning is for yourself, sleeping or visiting the most famous temple in Motuo--- Renqinpeng Temple with a history of more than 300 hundred years.

 D9: What’s mentioned in the title? Here we are going to break the limits. Attention, you are likely to meet landslide along the road. Distance: 28km.

 D10: Most challenging part of our trip, you should take care of the every step. Somebody once said, the toughness of the trekking makes the view even better. Our destination is just ahead of us.

 D11: Today, you are back onto the road again, and you will be transferred to Bomi.
